The SBS Farms team successfully returned to summer showing at the World Equestrian Center Summer I Horse Show, held July 8-12 in Wilmington, Ohio. The World Championship Hunter Rider-member show featured top competitors from throughout the Midwest and East Coast, and the SBS riders earned valuable points toward WCHR year-end awards.
Ben Hoban rode to great ribbons in the 3’3” Junior Hunters, capturing the reserve championship with Montenegro and top calls aboard Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center’s Crisp, including two second places. Ben and Montenegro also jumped to second place in the 3’3” Junior Hunter Classic.
Alexandra Smith had two class wins to help her win the reserve championship in the Younger Children’s Hunters with BTRC’s Hey Sailor. The pair also placed fifth in the NAL/WIHS Children’s Hunter Classic.
Christine Ruh had great rounds in the younger Adult Amateurs with Stardust and Hobcaw Creek, earning excellent ribbons along the way.
Stephanie Brennan and BRTC’s Copyright were competitive in the Intermediate Adult Hunters, including a class win over fences and second in the 2’6” Intermediate Hunter Classic out of 38 entries.
Amanda Schurr and Lunatico Kristal B had multiple top ribbons in the 3’6” Older Junior Hunters, including the win in the under saddle.
Emma Najdzionek joined the SBS team with BTRC’s Motion Picture and placed well in the Intermediate Children’s Hunters and Equitation, including fifth in the 2’6” Non-Pro Derby.
Stardust and Emma Walters finished ninth in a field of 40 competitors in the $10,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby.
Intouchable and Randi Byrd were clean and fast in the Medium Schooling Jumpers.
SBS Farms’ newest young horse, Jackson, made his Baby Green debut and ribboned in every class.
